Nuts & Saddles From £45
Replacement nuts and saddles can improve tuning stability, string action, intonation and overall playability. Each one is fabricated and shaped to suit the individual instrument rather than treated as a standard replacement part.
Nut and saddle work may include:
-
Removing the old nut/saddle
-
Fabricating and fitting a replacement
-
Marking and cutting string slots
-
Setting the correct height and angle
-
Final smoothing and polishing
-
A playability check after fitting
How nut and saddle work is priced
The final price depends on whether the instrument needs a nut, saddle or both, as well as factors like instrument design, string count, existing damage which can also affect the time involved.
Bone is the standard material I use and is included within the quoted labour price. Alternative materials such as brass or TUSQ XL can also be supplied, but the material and ordering cost will be added to the final price.
What is not included
The price does not include a guitar setup. Strings, additional replacement parts, fretwork, structural repairs and any unrelated setup or repair work are charged separately.
A setup is recommended after fitting to make sure the instrument plays correctly. Any additional work will be discussed and agreed before it is carried out.
The exact price will be confirmed after the guitar has been inspected. For a closer estimate, send details using the Get a Quote form.
