Prices exclude parts and strings

Guitar Setup    £40–£75

A professional setup improves the way your guitar feels, plays and stays in tune. Whether you have an acoustic, electric or bass guitar, each instrument is adjusted individually to suit its design, condition and the player’s needs.

A typical setup may include:

  • Checking and adjusting neck relief

  • Setting the string height

  • Adjusting intonation

  • Checking nut slots

  • Reshaping nut/saddle

  • Balancing pickup height

  • Tightening and inspecting hardware

  • Cleaning pots and switches where appropriate

  • Clean & polish of guitar finish

  • Checking for fret buzz, tuning issues and general playability

Why prices vary

The final price depends on how much work the instrument requires. A straightforward guitar in good condition with a fixed bridge will usually fall towards the lower end of the range. Instruments with floating tremolos, Floyd Rose-style bridges, significant setup issues or more extensive adjustment requirements will usually cost more.

What's not included

The setup price does not include strings, replacement parts, fret repairs, electrical faults, nut replacement or structural repairs. Any additional work will be discussed and agreed with you before it is carried out.

A selection of Ernie Ball strings are available when you visit.

The exact price will be confirmed after the guitar has been inspected. For a closer estimate, send details using the Get a Quote form.
